just a quickie

It's late and I have a big day tomorrow so...

Yea! I caught up with my friend Monkaey hours before she flew the coup back to Manchester. She kills me. I miss her guts.

Spoke with another of my favorite models, Trisha tonight. I'll probably get a chance to shoot her again in the next few months.

Time for bed....

Here's Trisha...

Catching up with a far-away friend

I should be finishing my taxes tonight, but I'm not in the mood. I have been catching up on some reading and other assorted computer work. But I did happen upon the blog of a friend of mine who's from the Chicago area, but who is now in England, working on a couple of documentaries.

Her name is Monkaey and she's a writer with MAD SKILLS. I miss her. Ironically, I found out through her blog that she's in town for Easter dealing with some family issues that come up for all of us from time to time. I must try to contact her before she goes back across the pond. Oh for a few more hours in the day....

Here is one of the digital images from the recent Jillian shoot....

A new space... physically, emotionally, creatively...

Last Thursday was the culmination of probably five years of casually looking, deciding, committing, falling in love, falling out of love and finally... resolution. If it sounds like I'm describing a relationship, well, I am. It's the saga of my relationship with my personal space. And as of last Thursday I have found a new one to inhabit.

As always, I have too much to do today, so this, will sadly be brief. I made an offer on a beautiful loft space on the near west side of Chicago that will most certainly give me the physical, emotional and creative space I have been desperately needing for years. Nothing is a done deal yet... closing isn't until my birthday late in April, but I have no reason to believe it won't work out.

Not wanting to jinx the process (as much as I profess a profound sense of respect for science over superstition, I have found it's best not to taunt Karma) I have gingerly begun the process of changing my address and other contact information on all sort of things. Can't wait until the last minute you know. The next month will go fast.

So here's a preview...

And although the search for a new space has pretty much consumed my life outside of film editing, which has also been rather all consuming lately, I have managed to do a little more scanning and organizing of recent shoots. Here's a great picture of Jillian Ann once again. This one from film. If you compare the film to the digital images, there is a huge difference not only in how the image looks, but how it feels. I do love digital, but at least for the foreseeable future, I have no intentions to stop working with film!

Still looking for a loft....

...but it looks like the search is narrowing. Looked at ten more spaces today. Found two very nice ones. I'll probably make an offer on one of them in the next few days.

Finally a proper place to shoot. I've done a lot of great work, amazing really if you think about it, in the tiny space I've been in for the past ten years, but I'm bursting at the seams. Can't wait to see what some actual space does to expand my work!

It's been far too long...

I feel like a lot of things in my life aren't getting the attention I mean to pay to them. But the good news is that the reason for the neglect is because of exciting things going on in my life right now. Not the least of which is that I'm looking for a new space to create my art in. Very exciting.

In the last month and a half I've had two wonderful model friends of mine visit me and I had tremendous fun creating with both of them. Melissa and Jillian Ann are two of the most inspiring people I've had the pleasure of getting to know though my photography. When they come to town it's usually a whirlwind of activity the leaves me breathless both in a literal and figurative sense and these visits were no different. I'll have to leave this entry fairly short because it's getting near the end of March and the March postcard is still uncreated as of yet, so I must go and take care of that and numerous other things that are eclipsing my time to write here. But I'll leave you with an image from the shoot this month with Jillian Ann. She's just amazing to know and photograph and I know my life is richer having her in it.

And thanks to Jeff Fingerman. The new Billy Sheahan Photography logo you see in the bottom left corner of the image is the result of his handy work.
